About me

Hi, my name is Oriyo and sometimes I am called cookie because it is pronounced just like Oreos. I am part of a small ethnic group of people in Bangladesh called Chakma, which is also happens to be my last name. I came to Canada during my grade 10 and have been here ever since doing university and living most of my adult life here. I did ocasionally go back to Bangladesh during the summers however. Before Bangladesh, I lived in Myanmar because of my father's job.

I like computers,music,cats,books,anime and travelling. Which is quite a lot of things to have an interest in. I've enjoyed tinkering with most things as a child, and as i grew up that interest ended up with me having an interest in programming and computers. Which is why I like to use an old thinkpad laptop that i bought for cheap off ebay and upgraded the parts myself, I also enjoy helping my friends build their desktop pcs. My favourite operating system to use is Linux, as it is highly customizable and I enjoy spending time tinkering everything about it. The distro I use is Arch(I had to mention that for the memes).

I play CTF games from various websites during my spare time, which is why I did some writeups on my website. CTF games are fun for me because I know a lot of the skills I learn from doing them ends up with me gaining more transferable skills.

I also enjoy playing soccer and have played for University intramural teams with my friends and ended up winning the whole tournament once.

Music is another passion of mine. I collect vinyl records and listen to lots of music. Music is nice because I can multitask while enjoying listening to some of my favourite albums
